Lodge Balgonie’s Charity Ladies Day Supports the Work of Breast Cancer Now. *
Members of Lodge Balgonie 764, recently hosted their first charity Ladies Day, bringing together wives and partners, along with their friends and family, for an afternoon of entertainment, laughter and fundraising in aid of Breast Cancer Now.
The fundraising event was sold out within days of the tickets going on sale, with the 60 guests enjoying an Afternoon Tea, catered by Margaret Gray of Lochore, with entertainment provided by singer and comedian Robbie Carran, as well as the fabulous – Trina. The event was brought to an end by local Markinch band – The Picts, all while supporting a cause that touches the lives of so many families in the Fife area.
Through the generosity of the ladies who attended, including donations, fundraising activities and raffle contributions, a magnificent £750 was raised for the charity.
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s leading breast cancer research and support charity, funding vital research while providing information and care for those affected by the disease. The funds raised by the event hosted by Lodge Balgonie will help support the charity’s ongoing work to improve outcomes, and provide hope, for those living with breast cancer.
Bro. John Rougvie, Right Worshipful Master of Lodge Balgonie 764, expressed his thanks to all the lodge members who contributed to the event’s success, through volunteering their time on the day to look after the ladies who came along, all those who kindly donated raffle prizes, made cash donations and of course to all those who attended the event. Their support for the charity event made for a memorable occasion, while making a difference to an important cause.
Lorna Rougvie continued that “we are delighted with the success of our first ever Ladies Day to be hosted by the Masonic Lodge in Markinch, and I would like to thank everyone who supported the event. Raising £750 for Breast Cancer Now is a fantastic achievement, and all who came along should be so proud of their part in supporting the important work of Breast Cancer Now through this donation which we will now make.”
This Ladies Day event once again demonstrates the strength of community spirit and friendship within Lodge Balgonie 764, as well as the commitment of its members, their families and friends to supporting worthwhile charitable causes.
